DULUTH, Minn. – The Loras College women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw with St. Scholastica on Friday afternoon.
The Duhawks (0-0-1) controlled play throughout, outshooting the Saints 36-2 and earning 13 corner kicks but were unable to break through. Loras nearly struck in the opening minutes as
Katie Callahan forced a save from goalkeeper Rylee Senich less than two minutes into the match.
St. Scholastica (0-0-1) produced its best opportunities in the second half with a pair of corner kicks but also came up empty.
Emerson Gasmann paced the Loras attack with 11 shots, including six on target.
Belle Johnson added eight shots, three on frame, while
Bella Scesniak tallied five shots with two on goal.
Senich finished with 14 saves to preserve the shutout for the Saints. Loras goalkeeper
Hannah Fedinec was not forced to make a save as the Duhawk defense held St. Scholastica without a shot on goal.
The Purple and Gold return to action Saturday, Aug. 29 against Concordia-Moorhead in Duluth, Minn. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
