DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten start with a 2-0 victory over Lawrence on Saturday afternoon at the Rock Bowl.
The Duhawks controlled play from the opening whistle, outshooting Lawrence (2-3-4) 21-4 and holding a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks. Loras (5-0-1) put 13 shots on frame while limiting the Vikings to just four, keeping possession in the attacking half for much of the match.
Loras broke through in the seventh minute when
Mayte Navejas scored her second goal of the season, finishing a cross from
Emerson Gasmann. Gasmann then doubled the lead early in the second half, converting in the 50th minute on assists from
Kaitlin Glenn and
Mary Clare Bean.
Goalkeeper
Hannah Fedinec needed just four saves to secure her fifth shutout of the season.
