Match Facts

  • The first set was back-and-forth before a 6-2 Duhawk run extended the lead to five (11-6). An Elijah Passey kill assisted by Evan Dziadkowiec sealed the Duhawks set one win, 25-18.
  • The Purple and Gold dominated the second set, using an 8-1 run to increase their lead to 13 (21-8). Bo Brainerd III's kill secured the 25-11 set two win for Loras.
  • The third set was a tightly contested battle throughout the entirety of the set. The Pointers were able to tie the game at 17-17 and take their first lead of the match late in the third set (20-23). The lead changed hands four times in the third set, going well past the 25-point threshold. A block by Roman Rothermel and Dziadkowiec sealed the sweep for the Duhawks, 32-30.
  • Connor Jaral: 17 kills
  • Brady Oberfoell: 8 digs, 3 assists

Match Facts

  • The first set was a back-and-forth battle. Loras held a three-point lead (8-5) before three-straight Duhawk errors tied the set up at 8-8. The Duhawks were able to pull away thanks to a kill from Roman Rothermel and two more kills from Connor Jaral to extend the lead to six (22-16). An error from the Scarlet Hawks secured a first set victory for the Duhawks, 25-19.
  • The Duhawks started the second set hot, jumping out to a 4-1 lead. The Purple and Gold maintained their lead throughout the second set with the Scarlet Hawks keeping it close and eventually tying it up at 14-14. This effort was not enough for Illinois Tech to take the second set, however, as a kill from Bo Brainerd III gave the Duhawks a 25-20 second set win.
  • The Duhawks dominated the third set from the jump, securing a 25-13 third set victory on a service ace from Alex Claessens
  • Roman Rothermel: 11 kills, 4 blocks
  • Aidan Peloquin: 3 aces, 7 digs, 1 assist
  • Bo Brainerd III: 9 kills, 5 blocks

Up Next: The Duhawks take on the No. 10 Aurora University Spartans on Saturday, Jan. 31 inside the Lillis Athletic & Wellness Center. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
