WAVERLY, Iowa – The Loras College men's track and field team opened the weekend at the Friday Night Lights meet hosted by Wartburg College on Friday.
Casey Tath led the Duhawks by winning the 60-meter dash in a personal-best time of 6.90.
DreAnthony Jackson,
Eli Pflipsen and
Carter Allen swept the top three spots in both the shot put and weight throw. Jackson captured the shot put title with a season-best mark of 17.16 meters, which ranks third in Division III. Pflipsen placed second with a throw of 15.63 meters, and Allen finished third at 14.81 meters. In the weight throw, Jackson again finished first with a mark of 17.68 meters, followed by Allen at 17.57 meters and Pflipsen at 17.50 meters.
Ian Fagan won the 200 meters with a time of 22.20.
Louis Zeitler added a season-best time of 23.56, while Jonah Irving posted a personal-best 23.96 and
Braxton Nelson recorded a personal-best 26.74.
Zeke Irving captured first place in the 600 meters with a personal-best time of 1:24.19.
In the mile,
Cameron Gotto finished second with a personal-best time of 4:23.17.
Lucas Arnold recorded a season-best time of 4:38.05, while
Liam Lentz and
Ethan Stasch added personal-best performances at 4:42.65 and 4:57.40, respectively.
In the collegiate section of the 3,000 meters,
Isaac Bourne placed fifth in 8:22.44, breaking the previous meet record. In section two,
Colby Cryer and
Jack Beehler finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Cryer recorded a personal-best time of 8:42.07, and Beehler posted a season-best 8:43.88.
Brayden Frey added a personal-best time of 8:53.83.
In the 800 meters,
Gavin Denholm, Lentz and Stasch each recorded personal-best times. Denholm finished in 2:01.57, Lentz ran 2:03.84, and Stasch crossed in 2:21.70.
In the long jump,
Daken Pessman recorded a personal-best leap of 6.47 meters.
Ahmari Meeks-Miller posted a season-best jump of 6.18 meters, and Logan Day added a personal-best mark of 6.05 meters.
