NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its Week 3 Indoor National Rating Index on Monday, with the Loras College men's track and field team ranked 17th and the women's team ranked 14th.
On the men's side, five Duhawks hold top-20 national marks, including three inside the top 10.
DreAnthony Jackson ranks sixth in Division III in the shot put with a throw of 17.16 meters and seventh in the weight throw at 18.90 meters.
Isaac Bourne sits eighth nationally in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:28.96, while
Eric Rutherford ranks 17th in the same event at 14:44.07.
Eli Pflipsen rounds out the group, ranking 17th in the shot put with a mark of 16.62 meters.
Five Duhawks also own top-20 marks on the women's side.
Caitlyn Cox leads the way, ranking first nationally in the weight throw with a mark of 20.33 meters.
Keelee Leitzen is third in the 800 meters at 2:10.72. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Katie Flynn,
Rosie Flynn,
Layla Hughes and Leitzen ranks 12th with a time of 3:57.38.
Katie Flynn also sits 13th in the 400 meters at 57.34, while Leitzen ranks 16th in the mile with a time of 4:56.67.
The Duhawks return to competition Friday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14, as the teams split and send athletes to the Midwest Elite meet hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the UWP Invite hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
