WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Loras College track and field teams split competition across four sites Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13–14, with athletes competing at Boston University, DePaul University, University of Wisconsin-Platteville and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Distance runners highlighted the weekend at Boston University, where Isaac Bourne broke his own school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:11.68 which ranks ninth in Division III. Eric Rutherford followed with a 14:28.50, which ranks second in program history.

In the field events at DePaul, Carter Allen delivered a personal-best throw of 14.98 meters in the shot put, while Eli Pflipsen added a personal-best mark of 17.61 meters in the weight throw. Additional personal bests came at UW-Platteville, where Nick Pierro recorded a 14.84-meter toss in the weight throw.

On the track at UW-Whitewater, Zeke Irving turned in season best time of 49.71 in the 400 meters, with Kam Reynolds also setting a personal best at 52.41. The 4x400-meter relay team of Ian Fagan, Irving, Casey Tath and Matt Kruse added a season-best performance of 3:19.50.

The long jump group also produced strong marks, led by Daken Pessman's season-best leap of 6.54 meters. Logan Day and Steve Edwards each recorded personal bests with jumps of 6.12 and 6.21 meters, respectively.

Louis Zeitler and Charlie Irwin recorded season-best performances in the 200 meters, finishing in 23.31 and 24.08, respectively. In the 5,000 meters, Colby Cryer and Brayden each turned in personal-best times of 15:19.25 and 15:23.88.

Enoch Thielhelm and Vince Frederiksen added personal-best efforts in the 800 meters with times of 2:01.16 and 2:02.44, while Lucas Arnold posted a personal-best 4:31.55 in the mile. Benjamin Ritter closed the meet by winning the 3,000 meters in 9:45.51 at UW-Platteville.

Up Next: Loras will split competition again Friday, Feb. 20, at the Sol Butler Classic hosted by University of Dubuque and the Caged Eagle Open at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
