Duhawks Bring Home 10 All-America Honors From NCAA Outdoor Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Members of the Loras College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 21-23 at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

First Team All-America honors are awarded to athletes who finish in the top eight of their respective events, while Second Team All-America recognition is given to individuals placing ninth through 16th and relay teams finishing ninth or 10th.

Freshman Keelee Leitzen paced the Duhawks, closing her season as a four-time All-American after earning First Team All-America honors in both the 800 meters and the 4x400-meter relay. Leitzen finished as the national runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.09. She also earned First Team All-America honors in the same two events during the indoor season, bringing her career total to four All-America honors in her freshman campaign.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Katie Flynn, Leitzen, Layla Hughes and Rosie Flynn earned First Team All-America honors with a season-best time of 3:45.33 to place seventh overall.

Caitlyn Cox wrapped up her career in the Purple and Gold with a third-place finish in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 57.48 meters to earn the sixth First Team All-America honor of her career.

Isaac Bourne led the men's team with two First Team All-America honors in the 10000 meters and 5000 meters. Bourne placed seventh in the 10k with a time of 29:41.84 before finishing eighth in the 5k in 14:17.43.

DreAnthony Jackson earned First Team All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the shot put after posting a mark of 17.62 meters. Carter Allen added Second Team All-America honors in the discus, placing 13th with a throw of 48.34 meters.
