DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's basketball team is set to embark on a 10-day trip to Spain on Sunday, Aug. 2.

During the Duhawks time abroad, they will compete in three exhibition games against local clubs in addition to exploring the Barcelona and Valencia regions.

"This trip is about much more than basketball," said head coach Chris Martin. "It's an opportunity for our players to experience a different culture, strengthen the bonds within our team, and represent Loras on an international stage. The lessons they'll learn off the court will be just as valuable as the ones they learn on it, and we're excited to create memories that will last a lifetime."

The Duhawks will spend three days in the Valencia region where they will visit the city of Sitges, learn to cook paella, participate in a community service activity, and whitewater raft on the Rio Mijares.

While in Barcelona, the Duhawks will tour Montjuic Hill, the Gothic Quarter, the Sagrada Familia, and Park Güell, before taking a catamaran cruise on the Mediterranean Sea. The Purple and Gold will wrap up their international adventure with a trip to Montserrat and a bike tour of the city.
