Why Loras: "I visited Loras many times to see my brother and watch his games. They were my favorite sports team, because I knew almost everyone on the field. I took a couple visits my senior year and loved the campus and immediately felt at home with the players and coaches. Most of my mother’s side of the family lives in Dubuque, so I have grown up with many memories of the town. I knew it was the right place for me.”

What it means to be a Duhawk: "That definition is changing around here. Back to what it used to be. To be a Duhawk you have to be a tough, smart, and proud individual. Duhawk's used to have great pride in their school and sports teams and recently I think pride in the sports teams hasn't been as strong. In this past year I have started to see and hear a change in that. Athletes are supporting athletes as they go to each other’s games and cheer each other on and push each other to be as successful as they can be.”

Favorite memory at Loras: "Earning Strongest player on the football team in 2013 and 2014 as well as toughest player (pound for pound strongest) in 2014.”

2014: Appeared in four games as a senior

2013: Appeared in all 10 games as a junior … Caught six passes for 52 yards

2012: Appeared in nine games as a sophomore … Made three tackles (one solo)

2011: Appeared in six games as a freshman … Made one reception for 15 yards and carried the ball twice for eight total yards

High School: Graduate of Iowa City High School in Iowa City, Iowa … Two-year varsity football player for Dan Sabers in the Mississippi Valley Conference … Honorable Mention All-Conference selection … Helped lead the Little Hawks to three MVC Championships, IAHSSA Championship in 2009 and a IAHSSA Runner-Up finish in 2010 … Over four-year career, team went 39-7 … One-year track & field athlete

Personal: Thomas S Zoeckler … Son of Mark Zoeckler and Crissy Canganelli and brother of David and Susan Zoeckler … Born in Iowa City, Iowa and raised in Dubuque, Iowa … Names the Minnesota Vikings as his favorite professional team … Spent part of his summer in Tennessee hiking in the Rocky Mountains … Elementary education major with an endorsement in mathematics and coaching
