Why Loras: “I came to Loras because it felt right. I wanted to make a difference on Campus and the community of Dubuque. I loved the people and the idea of being close to my amazing family.”

What it means to be a Duhawk: “Being a Duhawk means being able to care for everyone around you and being geniue. Duhawks put others before themselves and know how to be positive leader.”

Favorite memory at Loras: “Loras has provided me with many good memories but my absolute favorite memory would have to the people. The people here have been truly unforgettable. Not mention, beach volleyball in Orlando with all my track girls.”

High School: Graduated from Iowa City Regina Hogh School in Iowa City, IA … Four-year Varsity Track and Field Runner for Coach Chad Swope … All-Conference all four years in hurdles … All-Conference in the 400 hurdles junior and senior year … State and Drake Relay qualifier

Personal: Daughter of Norman and Stephanie Balke … Sister of twin Molly, Alexander and Bree Balke … Lists Lolo Jones and LeBron James as her favorite professional athletes … Names the Chicago Cubs as her favorite professional sports team … This summer she interned at the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, was in a commercial for the city of Dubuque, worked at Houlihan’s as a bar tender, played in a sand volleyball tournament, ran in the Grandview Gallop and had great times with friends and family
