Loras College Athletics

Darin Schultz is in his second year as a member of Greg Gorton's Men's Basketball Coaching Staff. His primary responsibilities include coaching of the junior varsity program, while assisting with recruiting efforts and day-to-day operations for the team.

A graduate of Central College, Schultz was a two-year varsity baseball player for the Dutch while earning his bachelor's degree in physical education. In his junior and season year, Schultz was a student assistant coach under Mike Boschee and Craig Douma at Central, assisting with the recruiting efforts, junior varsity program and day-to-day operations. During the summer, Schultz assisted with the Dutch summer camps and other fundraising efforts.

Prior to his time at Central, Schultz was an assistant coach through Midwest Elite Basketball Camps. While on the staff, Schultz organized and conducted daily camp plans, provided offseason development, assisted with video breakdown in plays and evaluated players' skills.

Schultz' coaching career began with the Iowa Thunder AAU 8th Grade Boys' Basketball team. Among his responsibilities, Schultz assisted in the growth and development of more than 40 players.

Originally from East Dubuque, Ill., Schultz is a full-time physical education teacher at East Dubuque High School.

Schultz and his fiance, Jamie Majerowicz, live in Dubuque.
