Heidi Colford became the fourth head coach for the Loras College women's lacrosse program prior to the start of the 2021 season.

In her first year with the Duhawks, Colford helped the team navigate a challenging 2021 season as the COVID-19 pandemic impacted play and scheduling. Despite the challenges, the Duhawks posted a 6-5 record and advanced to the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) tournament for the first time in program history. Though the game was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols, Loras recorded a program-best five All-Conference honorees, including Kayla TIlkes '21 earning the program's first Player of the Year award. The Duhawks also saw Katlynne Wolf '21 become the program's leader in single game, season and career assists and five players earn Player of the Week awards, headlined by Clare Brunn '22 winning three times.

Colford comes to Loras after serving as the graduate assistant coach for the women's lacrosse team at St. Ambrose University during the 2019-2020 seasons. In that role, she assisted the head coach in practice planning and recruiting in addition to running practices and developing off-season training and recruitment. While on staff with the Fighting Bees, the teams went 11-6 and unfortunately had the season cut short in 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

As a student-athlete, Colford played for Division I Wagner College where she tallied 82 career goals, 49 assists, and 51 draw controls. She was a First-Team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2017 after leading the league in total points, assists, and points per game.

Colford earned her bachelor's degree in arts administration from Wagner before graduating with her master's degree in business administration from St. Ambrose.
