Jody Spencer begins her first season as assistant women’s lacrosse coach after joining Goetz’ staff in May of 2015.
In 2004, Spencer helped launch Verona Lacrosse Club, Wisconsin’s first girl’s lacrosse team. Her coaching experience includes nine years at Verona Area High School where she served as head coach, assistant head coach, and junior varsity head coach.
Spencer graduated from William Horlick High School before earning her bachelor’s degree in economics from UW-Madison in 2000.
In addition to her coaching experience, Spencer serves on the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation board as the awards director. Spencer also serves on the Madison Area Lacrosse board as the girl’s high school vice president.
US-Lacrosse Wisconsin has honored Spencer twice in her career, once as Coach of the Year in 2013 and once as Person of the Year in 2014. In 2012, she was presented with the Ginny Kester Award by the Madison Area Lacrosse Association.
Originally from Racine, Wisconsin, Spencer now resides in Verona, Wisconsin with her husband, Scott, and their two daughters, Lindsey and Stephanie.
