ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras College women's tennis team dropped a pair of hard fought matches to Augustana College and North Central College on Monday as they continued their early season non-conference schedule. The Duhawks fell to Augustana 9-0 and North Central in a hard fought 6-3 match.

Seniors Elizabeth Dickhut and Caroline Rainey were victorious in their singles matches against North Central. Rainey had a hard fought 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 4 singles match against Reyn Cross. Sophomore Jessica Dickhut lost a three-set thriller at No. 3 singles to Jessie Degroot, 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

The Dickhut combination proves to be a force in doubles action as they improved their record to 2-1 on the year after splitting a pair of matches. With the duo of Elizebeth and Jessica, they were defeated 8-4 against Augustana, but bounced back for an 8-3 win against North Central.

The Duhawks will be back in action tomorrow as they welcome crosstown rival, the University of Dubuque. Match time is set for 4:15 p.m. on the Loras tennis courts.
