INDIANOLA, Iowa (Duhawks.com) – The purple machine kept on rolling Saturday at Simpson College as Loras moved to 2-0 in Iowa Conference play with a 6-3 win over the Storm.
Senior
Elizabeth Dickhut and her sister
Jessica Dickhut went perfect on the day, winning 8-1 in doubles play.
Elizabeth Dickhut followed her doubles performance up with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Jessica Dickhut cleaned house at No. 3 singles, winning 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
After falling at No. 2 doubles, senior
Caroline Rainey returned to glory at No. 4 singles, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Dubuque native
Carrie Crabill kept her hot streak alive, winning at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-0.
The No. 3 doubles tandem of sophomore
Maggie Clements and
Sam Pietruszynski won their second match in a row, 8-5.
With the win, Loras improves to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the Iowa Conference. It is the first time since 2007 that Loras has started the season at 2-0 in the Iowa Conference.
They play host to Wartburg College on Wednesday, September 10 at 5:30 p.m.
