DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) – The Loras College women's tennis team returned to Iowa Conference play on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Buena Vista. The Duhawks controlled the match from the opening serve, winning 8-1.
Sophomore
Ayla Graziano started off the day with a sweep at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0. The clinching win for Loras (2-8, 2-4 IIAC) came courtesy of junior
Jessica Dickhut at No. 1 singles. Her win over Tarynne Kinghorn of Buena Vista (0-6, 0-6 IIAC), 6-4, 6-0, sealed the Duhawks' second win in conference play.
With the match already decided, Loras altered their traditional doubles lineup, putting sophomore
Tara Shingler and freshman
Marnie Ferguson at No. 2 doubles. The Beavers' lone win came via medical forfeit at No. 2 doubles. Dickhut and Pietruszynski capped their day with an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.

UP NEXTLoras will play their final Iowa Conference match of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Waverly, Iowa to face Wartburg. The Knights currently sit at 3-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Wartburg faces Central and Simpson on Saturday, Oct. 3 ahead of Tuesday's finale.
