WAVERLY, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's soccer team were on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat on Saturday, Oct. 10 against Wartburg, dropping to 1-1-1 in Iowa Conference play. Senior
Katie Truesdale scored the lone goal for the Duhawks in the loss.
Loras (6-4-2, 1-1-1 IIAC) conceded an early goal to Wartburg in the 10th minute and were forced to play from behind the rest of the night. The Knights' Brittany Frush lofted a shot high into the air and received the benefit of the northeastern Iowa wind as it struck the back post and fell into the back of the net.
Wartburg added an insurance goals in the 37th and 77th minutes to take a commanding 3-nil lead before Truesdale erased the clean sheet with her 12th goal of the year in the 80th minute.
Loras outshot Wartburg 26-17, putting 12 shots on target.
