Sarah Hanson and junior
Kaitlyn Kutsch scored four goals each, fueling the Loras College Women's Lacrosse team to a 13-6 win over the Carroll University Pioneers. With goals from five players, the Duhawks scored a program-record 13 goals on their way to their first win of the 2015 season.
Loras (1-2, 0-0) broke the game open early, as Hanson scored on a drive to the net to give the Duhawks the early 1-0 edge over Carroll (0-3).
Sophomore
Hannah Nelson doubled the Duhawks' lead minutes later, converting on a feed from senior
Gina Dacy.
While the Pioneers fought back within one, Kutsch and sophomore
Anna Schwalbe found the back of the net twice and Nelson added another to lift the Duhawks to a 7-3 lead at halftime.
Maintaining control of the game, the Duhawks decided the tempo in the second half. Hanson added a hat trick in the second half, while Kutsch tallied two goals propelling Loras to the 13-6 win.
