DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras College Softball team opens Iowa Conference play on Tuesday, when they welcome No. 5 Luther College to Faber-Clark Field. Hungry for a return to the Iowa Conference tournament, the Duhawks look to begin their charge into the postseason against the Norse.

WINS STREAK MOVES TO SIX ...
With sweeps of Robert Morris - Springfield and MacMurray over the weekend, the Duhawks moved their win streak to six, their longest win streak since they opened the 2007 season 8-0.

WINTER'S TWEAKS CARRY LARGE RETURN ...
Coming into the 2015 season, head coach Ashley Winter and her coaching staff were excited about the versatility, speed, and depth that made up this season's roster. With 20 games in the books, the challenge has become maximizing the outcome. Doubleheaders against Robert Morris - Springfield and MacMurray this past weekend took a convincing step in the right direction. Winter and her staff did a little tinkering with the lineup, moving junior Julie Kistner into second in the order and shuffling the six through eight slots, and saw the results pay off in the form of 50 runs.

NOTEWORTHY WEEKEND, AMONG BEST FOR HAASE ...
Junior Makaila Haase turned in one of the best performances of her career this past weekend. Striking out 10 on the mound on her way to a perfect 2-0 weekend, Haase held her own in the batter's box.  Blasting two home runs and driving in nine runs, Haase helped the Duhawks to a perfect 4-0 mark on the weekend. Hasse's career weekend, earned her Iowa Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention.

LENTEN SETTLES INTO THE SIX HOLE ...
Freshman Bria Lenten settled into her place in the lineup this weekend, hitting .500 (6-of-12) from the sixth spot. Driving in eight, while scoring seven runs, Lenten used her speed to go 2-for-2 in stolen bases. Great situational hitting by Lenten drove in runs, while the Cedar Rapids, Iowa flexed her muscles in the Duhawks first game against MacMurray, blasting a shot over the fence.

PLENTY OF DINGERS TO GO AROUND ...
Loras brought their big bats on their roadtrip over the weekend, tallying eight home runs on the weekend. Freshman Miranda Chapman, junior Makaila Haase, and senior Katie Serpico had two each while sophomore Danielle Stromert and freshman Bria Lenten blasted one a piece. Chapman teed off for her pair of home runs in the same game, becoming the first player since Kelly Klein did so during the 2013 season.

ANNUAL STRIKEOUT CANCER GAME ON HORIZON ...
Taking on crosstown rival University of Dubuque on Thursday, the Duhawks are set to take part in their annual "Strikeout Cancer" game. The teams will come together to raise awareness and money to help the cause. Shirts can be purchased by contact head coach Ashley Winter at ashley.winter@loras.edu.

KLEIN RECORDS CAREER-HIGH IN SUNDAY'S WIN ...
Senior Holly Klein continued her stellar senior campaign over the weekend, posting a 2-0 record while going the distance in both games. Klein's noteworthy weekend was highlighted by her outing against MacMurray where she struck out a career-high nine batters on her way to the win.

STROMERT AMONG BEST IN THE CONFERENCE ...
A leadoff hitter's main repsonsibility is to get on base, by any means necessary. So far this season, sophomore Danielle Stromert has excelled in the role. Boast a .619 on base percentage, Stromert ranks second in the conference in the category. In her second year sporting the purple and gold, Stromert finds herself atop the conference standings in triples (3) and walks (26).
