DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) – The Loras College women's tennis team hosted a doubleheader on Sunday against Augustana College and St. Ambrose University. They split the doubleheader, falling to Augustana 9-0, but bounced back to defeat St. Ambrose, 5-4. The win against St. Ambrose marked the Duhawks' seventh win of the year and their first win against the Fighting Bees in 10 years and first for Head Coach

Jessica Dickhut led the way for the Duhawks in the singles portion, winning both of their singles matches against St. Ambrose.
At No. 1 singles,
Elizabeth Dickhut won a hard fought match against Griffin Rasche in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Jessica, at No. 2 singles needed a third set to complete the victory.
After dropping the first set 6-0, Jessica came back to win the second set 6-1 and finished off Samantha Rochkus in the super tiebreaker 15-13.
The Duhawks were winless in the doubles portion of their match against Augustana, but claimed two victories against St. Ambrose. The Dickhut sisters won their match at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. They got off to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back, winning 8-1.

Maggie Clements trailed early 2-1, but were relentless in their pursuit of victory, taking seven of the next 10 games to win 8-5.
The Duhawks turn their attention to the Iowa Conference Tournament next weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Loras will open against Central on Friday, with the start time to be determined.
