DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - Loras brings their highly potent offense into their third and final non-conference game of the 2015 season for a showdown with Augustana. The Vikings enter with a record of 1-1, coming off their first loss last week.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST AUGUSTANA •••
Augustana owns a 3-2 advantage over Loras all-time. This series dates back to 1992 when the Duhawks defeated Augustana on the road 10-7. Loras took the first two meetings between the two sides, but have dropped their last three in 2012, 2013, and 2014.

LAST MEETING VERSUS AUGUSTANA •••
Last season Loras was defeated by the Vikings 34-17. The Duhawks were done in by six offensive turnovers, most of which came in the second half of play. Once again, the duo of Dylan Jones and Nate Even led the Duhawks on offense, with Jones passing for 287, and Even hauling in 128 of them. Nate Carrier turned in one of his best performances of his junior season, rushing for 112 yards on 28 carries. Defensively, the Duhawks were led by J.P. Awe who tallied eight total tackles on the afternoon including in two for a loss and one sack.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS •••
Much like what the Duhawks faced in week one against Elmhurst, Augustana features a very run heavy offense in which the quarterback is also a primary ball-carrier. Loras will have to watch out for the running abilities of Sam Frasco. In two games, Frasco has accounted for 12 Augustana touchdowns in comparison to just one interception. Frasco has also been successful through the air, passing for an average of 244 yards per game, along with solid pass efficiency. The Vikings have two primary targets in the passing game in Danny Lattner and Sean Fitzgerald. So far through two weeks, both receivers have hauled in 13 receptions. Defensively, Augustana has shown their flaws, allowing 49.5 points per game on average. Opponents have racked up 556.5 yards per game which also bodes well for the high-scoring Duhawks. Augustana has seen a majority of their success happen in the red-zone, going 6-for-6 in red-zone opportunities this season.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR AGAINST VIKINGS •••
Once again it's expected that the Duhawks will be featuring a fairly balanced attack on Saturday, with heavy doses both through the air and in the trenches. Last week, Loras displayed no desire to switch up their game plan once senior Nik Schulte came into the game. In just a handful of drives Schulte had 17 completions on 31 pass attempts for 220 yards. Defensively the Duhawks must find a game plan that works. Last week, UW-Stout's offense took advantage of an inexpereinced secondary, ultimately leading to the Duhawks defeat. One tactic that did work however was the introduction of amoeba/psycho defense most famously run by the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. When the Duhawks brought out this set it caused both mistakes and confusion from the side of the Blue Devils.

SCHULTE TO MAKE FIRST CAREER START •••
Last week senior Nik Schulte made his first pronlonged appearance, passing 31 times for 220 yards and a touchdown. This week Schulte will be making his first collegiate start against Augustana College.  Schulte will look for help from his brother junior Josh Schulte who last week hauled in a career-high 15 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns. The senior was also a threat in the running game, making five rushing attempts and showcasing his ability to move in-and-out of the pocket. Loras' offensive system should only show positive results for Schulte as he takes over.

MINCH PROVING HE'S ONE OF THE BEST •••
With his second consectutive 100+ yard performacne to begin his career at Loras, junior Zach Minch has already established himself as one of the best running backs the IIAC has to offer. Heading into week three of the season, Minch leads the conference in rushing with 328 yards, good for an 164 yard per game average. Minch has shown the ability to pick up big chunks of yards at a time, with his longest run of the season coming in at 40 yards. The junior will look to continue his hot stretch against an Augustana defense that has allowed 238 rushing yards per game this season.
