ROCK ISLAND, Illinois (Duhawks.com) – The Loras Women's Tennis team fell in both of its matches on Monday, Sept. 7 during a non-conference triangular hosted by Augustana College. The Duhawks were defeated by Augustana 9-0 and North Park 6-3. Still looking to find a rhythm, the team moved to 1-4 on the year.
Augustana proved to be the top challenger in Monday's matches. Loras was bested by the Vikings in each of its singles and doubles competitions. The team saw better play in its matches against North Park, but not enough to claim team victory.
Sophomores Sam Pietrusynski and
Ayla Graziano were successful in their singles competitions against North Park. Pietrusynski defeated her opponent with scores of 6-1, 6-0. Graziano's match went to a tie-breaker in which she battled for the 10-4 win. The duo of sophomores

Rachael Molidor won their doubles match, 8-1.

UP NEXTLoras will host their Iowa Conference opener and home opener on Wednesday when Coe travels to Dubuque. The home stand will continue through the weekend, as Loras hosts Simpson and Central in an IIAC Triangular on Saturday morning.
