Ryan Galvan | The freshman outside showed great form, finishing with 10 kills and a .286 attack percentage. Through his first three games, Galvan is average 2.0 kills per set.
POSTGAME NOTES (PDF) - Set one was close throughout and featured each team trading points up until an Anthony Winter service error gave the Duhawks a 11-10 lead.
- The even play continued for both sides, but Loras gained the advantage after an Alfredo Lopez kill put the Duhawks ahead, 23-21.
- The Hawks ripped off five of the last six points scored to come from behind and take the first set, 26-24.
- Energized by a competitive set one, the Duhawks got out to a huge lead of 12-3 in set two thanks to several Quincy errors.
- However, a few Loras errors allowed the Hawks to have life in set two and the score was eventually evened at 19-all.
- Tied at 23, the Duhawks used an attacking error from Quincy and a Leo Peters kill to close out the set and tie the match at one.
- In stark contrast to set two, the Hawks got out to the big advantage in set three, leading 16-7 midway through the frame.
- This lead proved too great for Loras to overcome as they dropped the set, 25-12.
- Set four featured the similar back-and-forth play that was seen in the first two sets.
- After a Duhawk kill from Ryan Galvan tied the match at 12-all, Quincy ripped off four straight points to take a 16-12 lead, forcing a Loras timeout.
- Loras did its best to fight back and close the gap, cutting the deficit to one point at 18-17.
- Ultimately, Quincy scored seven of the last nine points to close out the set, 25-19, and the match by a 3-1 result.
- This was the first all-time meeting between the Hawks and the Duhawks, and the Duhawks second meeting with a MIVA-conference opponent. Following this loss, The Duhawks are now 0-2 against such teams.
- Set two's victory marks Loras' first set victory against a Division I/II in program history.
- Loras will have a quick turnaround as they hit the road for two contests in Lisle, Ill. on Sunday vs. Benedictine and North Central.

UP NEXTLoras hits the road for a pair of non-conference matches on Sunday against North Central and Benedictine. Both teams are members of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League, but Sunday's contests will be treated as non-conference matches. Loras' first match against North Central will be the first in program history for the Cardinals.
