DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's tennis team concluded its fall season on Wednesday against Wartburg to determine seeding in the spring Iowa Conference Team Tournament. After falling behind in doubles, the Duhawks raced back to even the match in singles play before the Knights pulled out the win.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The No. 1 doubles tandem of seniors Kylie DeWees and Jess Dickhut posted the lone victory for Loras, winning 8-2. Wartburg posted a victory at No. 2 doubles and at No. 3 doubles by scores of 8-2 and 9-7, respectively.
- In singles' play, the Duhawks won in three of the six matches, all in straight sets.
- At No. 2, Dickhut earned her second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Wartburg's Lauren O'Brian.
- Sophomore Emma Cooke improved to 12-2 on the season at No. 3 singles with her win against Lexi Schimtz of Wartburg.
- Freshman McKenna Craff won 12 of the 14 sets in her match at No. 4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-2 aginst Wartburg's Alexis Kemp.
