AURORA, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's lacrosse team fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in MWLC play after a 20-2 loss to Aurora on Saturday. Senior Katilyn Kutsch tallied the lone goals for the Duhawks in the loss.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS- Spartans got out to a fast start, scoring five goals in the first five minutes before the game was delayed due to a blizzard that attacked the Chicagoland area.
- Aurora used a six-goal run to extend their lead to 11-0 midway through the first half.
- Sophomore Sarah Hanson found senior Kaitlyn Kutsch in a scoring area to get Loras on the board, trailing 11-1 with 16:45 left to play in the first half. Â
- After back-to-back Spartan goals, Kutsch struck again with her 26th goal of the season with 7:28 left in the first half. Â
- A late first half goal from Aurora's Kenny Hughes sent the game to the halftime break with the Spartans in front, 15-2.Â
- Senior Shaunna Weber made her season debut, starting in goal to begin the second half.
- The offensive outpouring continued for the Spartans, adding five more goals.
- Aurora used its smothering defense to finish with a distinct advantage in draw controls and clear attempts.
