DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's tennis team dropped its Iowa Conference home opener on Tuesday to Luther, 9-0.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
- All three doubles' matches were closely contested, including No. 2 doubles that went to tiebreaker. Sophomore Emma Cooke and frehman McKenna Craff battled their way back to level at 8-all before losing the tiebreaker, 7-4.
- Senior Jessica Dickhut won her opening set at No. 2 singles, 6-4, before dropping the second, 6-0, and the tiebreaker, 10-6.
- Cooke dropped her opening frame, 6-1, but bounced back to win the second, 6-2. In the tiebreaker, Cooke fell, 10-1.
UP NEXT
Loras travels to Cedar Rapids on Saturday to face the preseason favorite, Coe. The Kohawks are 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Iowa Conference, winning matches over Simpson and Central by identical 9-0 scorelines.
