PELLA, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The seesaw season continued for the Loras football program on Saturday, as the Duhawks suffered a 65-24 setback at the hands of Central. Redshirt senior Josh Schulte had a career day for the Duhawks, totaling 164 receiving yards on 11 receptions with three touchdown catches.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
-The Duhawks were held scoreless in the first quarter, but seven seconds into the second quarter, senior Bob Kelly connected with Schulte in the back corner of the end zone with a one-handed grab
-Loras went on to score on back-to-back drives as senior Mason Quigley drilled home a 26-yard field goal to cut the Central lead to 21-10
-With two minutes remaining in the first half of play, the Kelly to Schulte combination was back at it again as they connected on a two-yard touchdown pass
-For the third time of the afternoon, the Anamosa native Schulte reeled in a touchdown pass from Kelly ... The 28-yard touchdown pass capped off a five-play, 63-yard drive for the Duhawks
-After putting up 666 yards of offense in the first three quarters, Loras held Central to 27 yards in the final frame

NOTABLES
-Josh Schulte came nine yards short of his career high for receiving yards per game and tied his career high in touchdowns in a game at three, matching last week's performance against Coe
-Senior Bob Brophy registered 13 total tackles in the game to push his season total to 80, which surpassed his previous career high for tackles in a season, previously held at 71
-Quigley knocked home a 26-yard field goal early in the second quarter to tie the Loras record for field goals in a season at 13
-Kelly threw for 372 yards in the air in the game today and needs 115 yards in his final game of the season to surpass the mark set back in 2015
-The Dutch did everything they could to avoid junior return man Walter Ollie, limiting him to one kickoff return
-Senior Mikey Castoro recorded a career-high 125 kick return yards and tied the program record with seven returns in one game
-Sophomore Jerry McDaniel ripped off a career-best 70-yard rush in the fourth quarter and finished with a career-high 90 yards

The senior had himself an impressive afternoon, surpassing his previous season-high for receptions and touchdown catches as he now has 64 catches and 10 touchdowns this season. Schulte is  237 yards away from 2,000 for his career and needs one touchdown to reach 20.

Loras heads into the bye week with a 4-5 overall record and 3-4 mark in the Iowa Conference. The Duhawks return to game action on Saturday, Nov. 11 for their home and season finale against Luther. On Saturday, the Norse defeated Coe in triple-overtime to improve to 5-3 this season and 4-2 in the IIAC. Before coming to the Key City, Luther hosts Central on Nov. 4. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. in the Rock Bowl.
