Defense Leads Charge in Blowout Over Luther

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's basketball team remained undefeated in Iowa Conference play after a 71-51 victory over the Norse on Saturday. Junior Demond George led the Duhawks with 13 points and four rebounds. 

SERIES NOTABLES
- Loras owns the all-time series record with Luther at 89-62 … The Duhawks have won six of the last 10 meetings

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- After surrendering an early 15-8 deficit the Duhawks went on a 10-point run to take a three-point lead by the 10-minute mark 
- Luther tied the game at 28 before the Duhawks scored six straight to close out the half
- Freshmen Rowan McGowen continued the hot streak, scoring seven consecutive points to start the half and open a 15-point lead
- Duhawks maintained their second half lead backed by multiple three-pointers from George
- With 10 minutes to left, Loras went on a 12-point run to keep the game out of reach for Luther

- Luther's 51 points was the lowest amount allowed by the Duhawks this season
