MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
First Half
- Freshman Matt Dacy-Seijo's 3-pointer at the 18:58 mark gave the Duhawks their only lead of the night at 3-2.
- Wartburg responded with a 17-8 run over the next 5:07 of the game to open a eight-point lead with 13:51 to play in the first half.
- A layup from senior Christian Mathis brought Loras to within nine with 4:20 left on the clock.
- VanWambeke's jumper with 3:08 to play served as the Duhawks' final points from the floor for nearly eight minutes of game play, extending into the second half.
Second Half
- Trailing by 17 at the turn, Loras never could find the right mix to begin a comeback bid.
- Wartburg extended its lead to as many as 27 before an 8-0 run from the Duhawks in the final three minutes brought the deficit back to 17.
NOTABLES
- In the first half, Wartburg outscored Loras 35-7 in bench points while forcing 12 turnovers out of the Duhawks
- After shooting 68.8 percent from the floor in the first half, the Knights' offense cooled a bit, finishing at 57.6 percent
