Offense Stalls in Loss to Carleton

AUBURNDALE, Fla. (Duhawks.com) - For the first time this season against Division III competition, Loras was held to a single run on Saturday against Carleton, falling 2-1. Senior Thomas Johnson went 2-for-3 with the lone RBI for the Duhawks, who fell to 4-5 this season with the loss.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
  • Carleton struck first in the bottom of the second on an RBI double to right field that plated the game's first run.
  • Loras leveled with the Knights in the top of the sixth on an RBI single from Johnson, scoring Koester who had reached after being hit by a pitch.
  • After a leadoff single by Carleton in the bottom of the seventh, the Knights moved the runner around after a sacrifice bunt and a ground out before taking the lead once again on a wild pitch.
  • In the ninth, trailing by one, the tying run for the Duhawks was stranded in scoring position, handing Loras its second consecutive loss.
