Duhawks’ Streak Snapped by Scarlet Hawks

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - In its fourth game inside the Rock Bowl this week, the Loras women's lacrosse team fell to Illinois Tech, 12-3, snapping a three-game win streak. Freshman Olivia Flynn, junior Sarah Hanson and senior Anna Schwalbe each tallied one goal apiece to lead the Duhawk attack.  Defensivley, junior Ashley McGee racked up nine saves and three ground balls in net.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
First Half
  • Illinois Tech raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first half before senior Anna Schwalbe ended the run with her 25th of the season at the 19:02 mark.
  • The Scarlet Hawks regained the four-goal advantage with a Alyssa DeLuca's second goal of the game.
  • Junior Sarah Hanson extended her scoring streak to nine games, tallying her 22nd of the season with 10:29 remaining in the half.

Second Half
  • Illinois Tech took control of the match with three goals in the first 10 minutes to take a 9-3 lead.
  • Loras' lone tally of the half came from freshman Olivia Flynn on an assist from senior Hannah Nelson at the 27:40 mark.
