MINNEAPOLIS (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's lacrosse team dropped its weekend opener on Saturday, falling to Augsburg, 19-6. Freshman
Olivia Flynn notched two goals while causing seven turnovers and collecting six ground balls.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
First Half
- Sophomore Sarah James tallied the Duhawks' first goal of the night at 24:27, tying the game at 1-all.
- Augsburg responded with a 7-0 run to open an 8-1 lead.
- Flynn ended the Auggie's scoring run with her first goal of the game at the 10:46 mark.
- Loras struck for two more goals within 20 seconds of each other to cut Augsburg lead to five at 9-4 with goals from Flynn and senior Brittany Miller, both of which were unassisted.
- The Auggie's ended the half with four goals in five minutes to take a 13-4 lead into the break.
Second Half
- Augsburg and the Duhawks traded goals to begin the second half with Loras' goal coming unassisted from senior Anna Schwalbe.
- Sarah Hanson netted the Duhawks sixth goal of the night at 13:41, assisted by senior Hannah Nelson
- The Auggie's scored three more insurance goals in the last 11 minutes of play to solidify a 19-6 win.
