RIPON, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's tennis team opened its spring season with a pair of non-conference wins on Saturday, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran, 8-0, and Ripon, 9-0.
LORAS HIGHLIGHTS
Wisconsin Lutheran
- The Duhawks swept the double portion of the match, winning 8-3 at No. 1, 8-1 at No. 2, and 8-4 at No. 3.
- At No. 6 singles, junior Rachel Molidor terminated the Warriors' Amanda Las in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.Â
- Senior Kylee Dewees pulled out a narrow win at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-7, 10-7.
- Loras benefited from a dominat win by senior Jessica Dickhut at No . 2 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
- Freshman McKenna Craff earned a win for Loras at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
Ripon
- Much like what was the case against Wisconsin Lutheran, Loras cleaned house in doubles action, beginning with an 8-1 win at No. 1 by Dickhut and DeWees.
- Sophomore Emma Cooke and junior Ayla Graziano cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 2 before Craff and Molidor completed the sweep with an 8-2 decision at No. 3.
- Cooke and Craff both recorded clean sweeps at No. 3 and No. 4 against the Redhawks at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 in both.
- At No. 5 and No. 6 singles, Graziano and Molidor secured convincing victories for the Duhawks, winning 6-2, 6-0.
