GALESBURG, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's tennis team improved to 13-7 with a 7-2 win over Knox on Saturday. Five wins in singles play coupled with a pair of wins in doubles delivered the sixth straight dual victory for the Duhawks.
HIGHLIGHTS
- At No. 1 doubles, seniors Kylie DeWees and Jessica Dickhut earned an 8-1 win to surpass the .500 mark on the season and are now 10-9 this season.
- Both DeWees and Dickhut won their singles matches after earning 6-0 shutouts in the second set. Dickhut is now 9-1 in her last ten matches at No. 2 singles.
- Freshman McKenna Craff and junior Rachael Molidor improved to 9-1 in their last 10 as a duo with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
- Craff and Molidor won their respective singles matches with identical set scores of 6-1 and 6-0. At No. 4 singles, Craff is now 9-1 in her last 10 matches.
- Earning another singles win for Loras on the day was sophomore Emma Cooke. The Arlington Heights, Ill. native won at No. 3 singles with set scores of 6-0 and 6-3, running her winning streak to 13.
UP NEXT
The Duhawks return home to take on the Spartans on Thursday, April 6 with a 4 p.m. start time. Aurora has a 4-7 record this season and open the spring campaign against Loras on Thursday.
