DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's tennis team opened its 2017-18 season this weekend with a trio of non-conference wins over Illinois College, Aurora and Alverno.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Junior
Emma Cooke rattled off three wins at No. 3 singles, dropping a total of two sets in three matches ... Cooke improved to 33-12 in her career and 27-4 at No. 3 singles
• At No. 1 singles, freshman
Audrey Hinz looked like a seasoned veteran, earning all three victories in straight sets
• Each of Loras' doubles team posted perfect results, combining for nine wins, which included five matches of 8-0 scorelines
• Sophomore
McKenna Craff recorded a pair of perfect sweeps, dropping a total of three sets on the weekend
• At No. 1 doubles, the team of Hinz and freshman
Erin McGivern set the tone with three wins out of three
• The Duhawks are off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1995

Loras begins conference play this Saturday at home against Central and Simpson. The Duhawks will face off against the Dutch at 9 a.m. before taking on the Storm at 1 p.m. at the Bob and Judy Tucker Loras All Sports Camp Tennis Complex. Both Central and Simpson are off to 2-0 starts after sweeping their competition last weekend.Â
