WAVERLY, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's volleyball team fell short against Wartburg on Friday night, losing 3-0.
Sarah Lewis led the Duhawks with nine kills on the night.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• The Knights went on a pair of back-to-back four-point runs early in the first set… The second run was cut short by a service error… Loras battled back, but dropped the first set,25-19
• In the second set, the Duhawks opened ona 5-0 run, prompting a timeout by the Knights …A second 4-0 run followed shortly after the break… The second set seemed almost certain for Loras, until Wartburg went on a 9-0 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match, winning 25-22
• The momentum swung fully in favor of the Knights after taking a commanding 2-0 … Trailing 10-5, the Duhawks battled back to 16-all ... Wartburg ended the third set 25-16 and took the conference win with them.
