WHEATON, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - In a midweek tune-up, the Loras women's volleyball team shook off last week's loss to Wartburg, sweeping Wheaton behind a 13-kill night from Kayla Kinney. 

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Paige Griffith's kill to make it 11-9 in favor of the Duhawks capped a 5-1 run in the opening set
• Michelle Budden put away a kill to make it 20-17 before Loras recorded three of the last four points to win 26-24
• The Thunder jumped out to an 9-5 lead early in set two before the Duhawks responded with 7-2 run
• Loras led by as many as five at 21-16 following back-to-back service aces by Abby Allgeyer
• Midway through the third set, the Duhawks' 10-2 run put them in the drivers' seat, with five points coming while Griffith was at the service line
• Before long, Wheaton stormed back, forcing a Loras timeout trailing 19-18
• The Duhawks recorded five of the last seven points, winning 26-24

NOTABLES
• Wednesday was the first match with double-digit kills for Kinney since Sept. 15 against Augustana ... That match was the last of a six consecutive match streak with 10 or more kills
• Krystal Tranel surpassed 400 digs for the season ... She ranks second in the American Rivers with 407 digs
• Loras improved to 3-2 all-time against Wheaton
