DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's volleyball team honored its senior class on Friday night one last time with a pair of convincing wins in non-conference action.
Kayla Kinney finished the night hitting .304 with a team-best 19 kills while
Jackie Alberto, turned in eight blocks.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• The Inferno stole the momentum early and took the opening set, 25-20
• Loras responded appropriately in the second set, taking back control with a 13-5 run in a balanced attack that saw four players register two kills each
• A 9-1 run in the third set created all the separation the Duhawks needed as they cruised to a 2-1 lead, 25-18
• Following a comfortable third set victory, early in the fourth set
Jenna Mazur got things rolling with an 8-0 run at the service line
• The Duhawks held the Inferno to nine points in the fourth set as they cruised to the win, recording more service aces than kills to close the match
• Loras got things going early in their second match opening play up with a 7-2 run
• Late in the first set, back-to-back assisted blocks by
Jackie Alberto and
Michelle Budden kept the Pioneers at bay allowing the Duhawks to quickly take the first set
• After tying things up at 15 in the second set, the Duhawks went on a furious 11-3 run to close out the set
• After going down by as much as 10 points in the third set, the Pioneers went on a quick rally to bring things within six but were not able to bring it any closer

The Duhawks open up postseason play on Tuesday in Decorah for their first round American Rivers Conference match up against Luther. The Norse are the fourth seed in the tournament while Loras is fifth. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
