George's Leads No. 20 Duhawks Past Beavers

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The No. 20 Loras men's basketball team recorded its third consecutive win on Thursday night following a 104-85 win over Buena Vista. Demond George scored a season-high 25 points on six 3-pointers to lead the offense.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• With a three point lead, Demond George returned to the court after cutting his head and immediately knocks down back to back to back three-pointers to push the Duhawk lead to nine
• After going 0-4 to start the game, Josh Ruggles entered the points column converting an and-one layup giving Loras a 10-point lead midway through the first half
• George and Rowan McGowen combined for 16 first half points while shooting 7-of-10 from deep
• The Duhawks kept up their hot shooting knocking down back to back threes on their way to a 10-2 run in the first 2:30 of the second half
• With nine minutes remaining in the half, Jordan Matthews drove the length of the court and converted the and-1 opportunity giving the Duhawks a 27-point lead, their largest of the night
• The Duhawks never looked back maintaining a 20-plus point lead for the final stretch of the game en route to their second American Rivers win of the season

• The Duhawks finished with five players in double-digit scoring for the third time this season
