MONMOUTH, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - Balanced scoring proved effective once again for the 20th-ranked Loras men's basketball team on Saturday, as the Duhawks improved to 9-2 this season with an 83-70 win at Monmouth. Rowan McGowen posted a team-best 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting while Ryan DiCanio added eight assists to go along with his 15-point scoring night.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Just as quickly as Loras came out of the gates to a 10-2 lead, the Fighting Scots repaid the favor with an 11-3 run of their own to tie the game at 13
• The pendulum of momentum swung once again for the Duhawks with a 17-6 run from 13:23 to 8:14
• With 6:05 to play in the game, a pair of free-throws by the Fighting Scots cut Loras' lead to five at 65-60 ... Over the next 2:19, the Duhawks opened a 13-point spread thanks to a 10-3 run with scoring from Demond George (3pts), Rowan McGowen (3pts), DiCanio (2pts) and Ruggles (2pts)
• Down the stretch, six of Loras' eight points came at the free-throw line

• Loras made four of its last five field goals in the game, including 3-of-4 from distance
