DiCanio Drops 28 Points Against A-R-C Rivals

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - In a game that saw 28 lead changes, 14 ties and one game-winning block, the Loras men's basketball team managed to squeak out a win against A-R-C rivals Wartburg on Wednesday night, 91-90. On the back of his 28-point outburst, Ryan DiCanio sealed the deal for the Duhawks by swatting away Wartburg's final shot attempt as time expired.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Josh Ruggles opened up the scoring with a 3-point play.
• DiCanio followed suit, knocking down back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Duhawks a six-point advantage with 15 minutes remaining in the first half.
• A layup from Cole Navigato gave the Duhawks the 49-48 lead to finish off the half.
• Wartburg's 7-0 run late in the second half prompted a 3-pointer from DiCanio, who had six three-pointers on the night
• George's 3-pointer with 1:59 to go put Loras back in front, 88-87, only to have Wartburg return the favor
• DiCanio drove the lane with less than 45 seconds to go to tie the game at 90
Jake Toman hit the back-end of two free-throws to give the Duhawks the lead with 11 seconds
• After driving the lane, the Knighs' last-second prayer was denied by DiCanio
