WATERTOWN, Wis. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's volleyball team posted its second sweep in seven days on Tuesday against Marantha Baptist in non-conference action.
Jake Chudzik finished with a team-best 10 kills on 15 swings, hitting .533 to lead the Duhawks to victory.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
First Set
- Loras saw its four-point lead at 19-15 cut to one after back-to-back-to-back attacking errors
- After the Duhawk timeout, Loras ripped off six of the next eight points to take the opener, 25-20 … It was Kinney's sixth kill of the set that pushed the Duhawks to set point
Set Two
- Loras flipped on its power switch and left Maranatha Baptist in the dust to start the second set, scoring 10 of the first 11 points
- The Sabercats found their way back to 21-17 after a blocking error by the Duhawks
- Loras kept one mistake from turning into two and took set two after a Maranatha Baptist service error
Set Three
- Similar in respect to how set two started, set three also began with a substantial run by the Duhawks, which included four of Chudzik's 10 kills in the first 12 points
