DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's volleyball team was unable to send its senior class out on a high note, as North Central handed the Duhawks a 3-1 loss on Saturday. In his final home match,
Dylan Ross finished with 11 kills and hit .250.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Set One
- A 5-1 run midway through the first set opened the first significant lead for North Central at 16-11, forcing a Loras timeout
- The break slowed the Cardinals attack slightly, but it was short lived as North Central ripped off eight of the last 10 points to take the opening frame, 25-17
Set Two
- The Cardinals raced out of the gates to a 6-2 lead, but Loras fought back to level ground at 11-all
- Behind the heavy arm of
Joe Jendra, the Duhawks hit .520 as a team in the second set with Jendra totaling six kills on seven swings
- When the dust settled, the Duhawks found themselves on a 13-5 run and ahead in the set, 18-14
- Leading 20-18, Loras motored to the finish line on a 5-1 run, which included kills from Gomez and Jendra
Set Three
- The Duhawks held the lead in the third set as late as 16-15, but the Cardinals pushed through and gained the upper-hand, scoring four-straight points at 19-all
- Loras slowed the run, but couldn't flip the momentum to its benefit, falling 25-21
Set Four
- North Central's 5-0 run beginning at 14-11 was answered immediately by the Duhawks, who's 5-1 run made it 19-17 in favor of the Purple & Gold
- Loras saw its two-point lead evaporate into nothing as a result of a four-point run by the Cardinals, with three kills and a block
- After the timeout by the Duhawks, both sides traded points, but it was the North Central who managed to strike twice, once via kill and the final point via block, to win 3-1
