Lenten's Four RBI Day Leads Duhawks Past Rams

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - Bria Lenten continued her hot start to her senior season on Wednesday, finishing with five hits and four RBIs to lead the Loras softball team in a non-conference doubleheader split against Cornell. The Rams took game one 6-5 while the Duhawks returned the favor in game two, winning 4-3.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Game One
- Savannah Fowler started to scoring for the Duhawks in the top of the second with an infield single, which caused a throwing error that scored Bria Lenten
- Loras added another following back-to-back doubles by Hadalyn Anderson and Lenten in the top of the fourth
- The two-run lead didn't last long as Cornell tallied an RBI double to center field
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Rams added five runs and took a 6-2 lead off of a fielder's choice RBI and a grand slam
- The Duhawks added three back in the top of the fifth with an RBI single from Lenten, sacrifice bunt by Fowler and an RBI single from Regan Wolverton

Game Two
- Loras started off early scoring in the top half of the first with an RBI single from Hannah Towns
- Cornell added one of their own in the first on an RBI single to center field
- The Duhawks added their second run of the game from a passed ball as Lenten was able to score from third
- A homerun by the Rams early in the bottom of the fourth tied it back up at 2-2 until Loras walked in the third run of the game for Cornell
- In the top of the fifth the Duhawks took the lead back off a two-RBI double to right center by Lenten
- From there Loras locked down the Rams comeback bid, scattering one hit over the final three innings

NOTABLES
- Lenten racked up five hits on the day, surpassing the 100-hit mark for her career and now stands at 104
- Anderson registered her first career multiple-hit game
- Game two represented the 100th career start for Wolverton … A career .309 hitter, Wolverton needs eight hits to reach 100

- The Cedar Rapids native collected five hits and four RBIs in the two games against Cornell … Two of her five hits went for RBI doubles
