Softball Edges St. Olaf for First Florida Win

CLERMONT, Fla. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras softball team bounced back from a pair of losses on day one of its Florida trip and defeated St. Olaf on Sunday morning, 2-1.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED - JUNIATA
- The Eagles cleared the bases with a double to center field in the second inning
- Bria Lenten drew a walk with the bases loaded, cutting the Juniata lead to two
- A pair of wild pitches in the fourth added two insurance runs for the Eagles
- Loras got one run back in the fourth after Savannah Fowler tripled to lead off the inning and scored on a ground out by Regan Wolverton

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED - WILLIAMS
- The Duhawks were held to three hits, all singles
- Williams added two insurance runs in the sixth after a double
- Three of the five runs scored by the Ephs were unearned as a result of three Loras errors 

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED - ST. OLAF
- The Duhawks took full advantage of the opportunity presented to them in the first inning after loading the bases and scoring via walk and passed ball
- St. Olaf scored its lone run of the game on a throwing error in the fifth

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED - THOMAS
- In the bottom half of the first, Shannon Coyle had a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Ashley Lentine for Loras' first run
- Melanie Gerbig hit an RBI double down the left field line tying the game at 3-all in the bottom of the sixth
- Thomas was able to score three unanswered runs in the top half of the eighth inning to close out the game

NOTABLES
- Through the first four games in Florida, Lenten is hitting .417 with one triple and one RBI
- Emily Reilly improved to 4-2 this season, earning the win against St. Olaf
