Women's Lacrosse Clipped by Scarlet Hawks

CHICAGO (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's lacrosse team fell in their MWLC matchup against Illinois Tech, 16-9. Renata Veljacic led the Duhawks with four points including three goals and an assist while adding five draw controls and two caused turnovers.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- The Duhawks opened the scoring with the first three goals of the game in the first 10 minutes with goals from Olivia Flynn, Sarah Hanson and Katlynne Wolf
- After 13 minutes of play, Loras took a 5-3 lead off a unassisted goal by Nia Stompanato … Following Stompanato's goal, the Scarlet Hawks rattled off four unanswered goals to finish off the first half and open up the second half with a 8-5 lead
- Veljacic attempted to put the team on her back by scoring three of four second half goals for the Duhawks but IIT outscored Loras 8-4 in the second half

NOTABLES
- Stompanato tied her career-high of three points, which she matched on February 24 against Southwestern … Her two assists marked a career best
- Veljacic set a career-high with five draw controls
- Flynn needs 11 points to reach 100 for her career
