Softball Silenced by Prairie Wolves

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras softball team dropped both ends of Saturday's doubleheader against Nebraska Wesleyan to close out the IIAC schedule, losing 4-2 and 2-1.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Game One
- In the first inning, Ashley Lentine led off with a double and later scored on a single by Lauren Fritz
- A Duhawk error allowed the Prairie Wolves to load the bases in the top of the second ... A two-RBI double put Nebraska Wesleyan in front and with the ensuing single, tallied the eventual game-winning run
- Fritz drew a leadoff walk in the fourth and MaKayla Sokoloski, as her pinch runner, came around to score on a two-out single by Melanie Gerbig
- Trailing by two, Loras went down in order in the final inning, falling 4-2

Game Two
- The Duhawks opened on a good foot in game two, striking for three hits, but were held to one run despite loading the bases twice ... Bria Lenten drove in the lone run on her RBI single ... Sokoloski was thrown out at home on a ball hit back to the pitcher from Savannah Fowler
- A two-out RBI double by the Prairie Wolves tied the game in the next half inning
- Neither side managed to take the lead for the next four innings ... In the top of the seventh, Nebraska Wesleyan used three hits to manufacture the go-ahead run

-  Fowler had her team-high 15 game hitting streak snapped in game two
- In game one, Lentine recorded her 14th multiple hit game this season
