DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) -  The No. 22-ranked Loras women's soccer team secured the first victory in the recently renovated Rock Bowl on Saturday night, handing UW-Eau Claire a 2-1 loss. Brynn Jacobi netted the match-winner for the Duhawks for her first tally of the season.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• In the 38th minute, Elizabeth Mills scored the first goal of the Duhawks season following the setup by Genna Sobieszczyk on the end line
• Jordyn Schoen netted the equalizer for the Blugolds in the 49th minute after she connected with a free kick into the box off the foot of Monica Zoellner
• Following the UW-Eau Claire goal, Loras responded right away, earning two corner kicks and recording a series of three shots inside a four-minute window
• Brynn Jacobi added her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute stretching the back of the net with a nice header from the Gretchen Schutz assist
• The Duhawks kept the Blugolds' threat at a distance, preventing a shot attempt over the final 41 minutes

NOTABLES
• Schutz' helper on Jacobi's goal was the 30th of her career, bringing her career point total to 62
• Loras outshot UW-Eau Claire 8-1 in the second half, finishing with a 16-7 advantage for the match
• After making four stops in the first half, Kaylee Coble did not record a save in the final 45 minutes

Mills struck for the first Duhawk goal late in the opening half to give her team momentum heading into the halftime break. Her aggressive nature created numerous opportunities for Loras in the final third.

Loras returns on Tuesday against St. Thomas. The Tommies come into Tuesday's contest with a 1-1-0 record, having lost to Wheaton before a 4-0 win over Salem. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the Rock Bowl.
