DiCanio Score's Season-High in A-R-C Battle

DECORAH, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's basketball team collected its second consecutive conference win and their fifth of the season in a game that saw the Duhawks force 25 turnovers. Ryan DiCanio powered the Duhawk offense with a season-best 33 points on 13-of-23 shooting.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Jordan Boyd picked the Norse attacker's pocket and took it the other way for an and-1 conversion and his first two points of the night
• Rowan McGowen knocked down his first three 3-pointers for an early nine points
• Loras brought the defensive intensity to start the game, forcing nine turnovers in the first 10 minutes
• Luther used a 15-2 run of their own to tie the game at 26 with 7:30 to play in the half
• After the Norse tied the game at 26, DiCanio stole the ball and found Cole Navigato in transition for a dunk
• Following his 15-point first half, DiCanio picked up right where he left off, scoring the Duhawks first 13 points and sparking a 20-4 run
• With six minutes to play, Jordan Matthews jumped the gap for his second steal and finished at the other end … He finished with 11 points
• Demond George found Ryan DiCanio trailing the play for his second 3-pointer of the night, setting a new season-high of 33 points.

• Ryan DiCanio (1,435) now ranks ninth on the Loras All-Time Scoring list … He is 21 points away from tying John Curtis who finished with 1,456 points … He also became the third player in school history with 1,400 points and 600 rebounds … The former Bartlett prep finished with a career-best 23 field goal attempts
• The Duhawks scored 39 points off turnovers
• Loras recorded a season-low eight turnovers as a team
• The Duhawks have now won the last eight against the Norse

Loras looks to keep pace in the conference standings on Saturday when Central comes to the Key City. The Dutch pulled out a comeback win on Wednesday night, defeating Simpson 87-84. Central is 7-9 overall and 4-3 in the American Rivers. Tip-off has been moved to 2 p.m.
