HIRAM, Ohio (Duhawks.com) - The Loras men's volleyball team made it six out of six to start its 2019 season on Saturday, disposing of Concordia Wisconsin and St. John Fisher by identical 3-0 margins. Jake Chudzik was a force to be reckoned with, totaling 21 kills over the two matches.

Loras 3, Concordia Wisconsin 0
• Leading 12-11 in the opening set, the Duhawks went on a tear with Ian Walsh at the service line, ripping off seven consecutive points to take the 19-11 lead … Three of the final four points for Loras came off the block
• The Falcons managed to cut the deficit to six at 24-18 before Walsh finished matters with his second kill of the set
• Once again, 12-11 proved to be the turning point for the Duhawks, this time in the second set … With Mihajlo Gomez at the line, Loras opened a 17-11 lead after a Gomez service ace
• After Concordia Wisconsin brought it back to 18-15, Loras raced away with the second set on a 7-2 run and win 25-17
• The Duhawks had the Falcons doubled up in the third set, 16-8, before Concordia Wisconsin went on a 4-0 run … By the time the Falcons got back to a four-point gap, Chudzik put away his 12th kill of the match to give Loras the 3-0 sweep

• With five wins in their last five outings, the Duhawks wasted no time swining the momentum in their against St. John Fisher, running out to a 17-8 lead … Despite conceding nine of the next 16 points, Loras held on for the opening win
• The second set did not host a significant run for either side, but the Duhawks kept the pressure on and maintained a comfortable gap for the duration of the set
• With the Cardinals on the ropes, Loras took it to them one more time, opening a sizable gap at 14-8 with a 5-0 run
• The Duhawks brought the weekend to a close with conviction, taking each of the last five points, capped by an Alfredo Lopez service ace

• Loras improved to 2-0 against Concordia Wisconsin all-time … Saturday's meeting with St. John Fisher was the first in program history
• Chudzik turned in a pair of new career-bests with 12 kills and four blocks against the Falcons
